Four years down the line, Kotian owns 40 cattle, including calves. While 3 of these are desi, the rest are crossbred. “I want to building up the number of desi cows to no less than 10,” he says. Most of the cows he owns now were all born in his cow shed.

He recently milks around 20 cows. “I might take every other 12 months to reach the peak the place I is also milking 27-30 cows. I have been growing my herd organically. I am happy with the way things are shaping up.”


Kotian additionally cultivates paddy, rubber and areca. A part of his farm is below natural farming.
