2 employees loot coir unit owner’s house

Coimbatore: Two workers of a coir unit in Pollachi allegedly broke into the house of its proprietor and made away with gold ornaments weighing sovereigns and 40,000 money on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place when Balasubramanian, 58, of Kaliapuram close to Pollachi, who runs the coir processing unit had long gone to Coimbatore on Monday morning in conjunction with his spouse Deivanayagam. When the couple returned at night, they discovered the window of the house and bureau had been damaged open and valuables lacking.

Balasubramanian lodged a grievance with the police, who right through the inquiry found two of his workers - a lady from Madurai and her relative - had been lacking. “Their phones also are not reachable. They are top suspects,” the police said. tnn
