Mangaluru: There were 3 flood-related deaths and three deaths due to lightning in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts prior to now 24 hours, in step with the State Emergency Operation Centre, Revenue Department Disaster Management.
The deaths due to lightning were in Puttur, Moodbidri and Kadaba taluks. A total of 803 houses were damaged due to floods within the two districts, with DK bearing the brunt at 598. There were also 3 livestock deaths, two at Karkala and Kundapur taluks in Udupi district, and one in Belthangady in DK.
