NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered a case against AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes and others over alleged violation of norms for purchasing international flying licenses, officers mentioned on Tuesday.
The case relates to alleged violation of norms through directors of the aviation corporate for leisure of five/20 laws within the aviation sector to get licenses for international operations, as well as violation of Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB)laws, they mentioned.
The 5/20 rule means that an organization wishes 5 years of revel in and 20 plane to become eligible for the license, the officers mentioned.
Besides Anthony Francis "Tony" Fernandes, Group CEO AirAsia Malaysia, the company AirAsia, Travel Food proprietor Sunil Kapoor, AirAsia Director R Venkatraman, aviation marketing consultant Deepak Talwar, Director of Singapore-based SNR Trading Rejendra Dubey and unidentified public servants have been named within the FIR.
The searches are happening at six locations in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, the officers mentioned.
