Modi government's attitude 'dictatorial' towards states: TDP

VIJAYAWADA: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as of late adopted a new political answer that lambasted the Modi government for its "dictatorial" perspective against states and vowed to unite regional events to take on the BJP government within the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

The answer read: "The Centre weakening the financial condition of states... The unilateral style of functioning of the Modi government has led to loss of trust of states in the central government. The states feel that the concept of federalism is only on paper."

The "dictatorial" perspective of the Narendra Modi government, its "unilateral and anti-people decisions, misuse of central intelligence agencies and regulatory agencies to suppress the political opponents have become a matter of grave concern in the Indian polity", it read.

The answer was adopted at "Mahanadu", the three-day annual conclave of the TDP right here that began on Sunday.

"On the occasion of the swearing-in rite of H D Kumaraswamy, leaders of various political events had assembled in Bangalore as a token of solidarity of regional political events.

"N Chandrababu Naidu (Andhra Pradesh chief minister) was a tall chief in this meet and it was a clear indication that regional political events are going to be a power to reckon with within the 2019 elections as an alternative to nationwide events to form a central authority in Delhi," the TDP answer stated.

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu stated the Modi government was taking "bad steps" against constitutional values and that it would be "dethroned via united regional events" within the 2019 common elections.

He also stated that former high minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and BJP veteran L Okay Advani respected the Constitution, however Modi and celebration chief Amit Shah have been "destroying the democratic gadget" within the nation.

"The Modi government's policies are in opposition to secularism. The ruling celebration uses RSS cadres, who've a fascist mentality. It may be spoiling fiscal and political values," he alleged.


"There's no democratic gadget beneath the Modi government. We respected Vajpayee and Advani who respected and protected the Constitution. But then got here the Modi-Shah duo. They destroyed all of the democratic gadget," the minister alleged.


The Centre is meddling within the operating of the 15th Finance Commission, he told journalists on the sidelines of the conclave.
