KANPUR: Dacoits targeted 4 properties in Shivnagar locality beneath the limits of Kotwali police station in Unnao district late on Monday evening. They fled with valuables after assaulting the inmates.
The police said 4 to 6 dacoits barged into the home of Surendra, a private worker, by means of scaling boundary walls of the home and hit him and his spouse Milan with the 'butt' of country-made firearms. When Surendra attempted to stop them they locked the couple in a room and fled with valuables.
The dacoits also looted neighbouring properties of Mahesh, Amit Shukla and Rohit and snatched valuables from the women inmates. Rohit ran out to tell some locals close by means of. When he returned he was thrashed by means of the dacoits. The miscreants fled taking quilt of darkness.
Police out-post incharge Kuldeep Gaur said night-patrolling has been beefed up. "A case has been regsitered and further investiagtions are on," he added. Some persons were taken into custody for wondering.
