Dead newborn's father alleges medical negligence

KOLKATA: Rajib Ghosh, a resident of Cenral Barrackpore has lodged a clinical negligence grievance against a health care provider after his newborn child died two days after the beginning. Dr Tridib Banerjee, beneath whose care the baby was, refuted the allegations and said that best possible clinical attention was given to the kid. The child suffered from newborn hemorrhagic illness precipitated by nutrition Ok deficiency, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) and later advanced septicemia.

“I in my opinion attended the newborn 6 to 8 instances in 12 hours and all efforts were made to save the kid. Unfortunately the newborn died because of septicemia,” said Dr Tridib Banerjee, guide pediatrician and neonatologist at Bhagirathi Neotia Women & Child Care Centre, Kolkata where the newborn died.
