NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old IndiGo staffer has been arrested by means of Delhi Police for creating a hoax call referring to a bomb on a Mumbai-bound flight. Police said the IndiGo team of workers member used to be reportedly depressed after the airways had given him a caution over his performance and took this measure as ‘revenge’ to teach the airways a lesson.
According to officials, a hoax call used to be won at IGI airport’s IndiGo Airlines complex on May 2 that a bomb used to be put on a Mumbai-bound flight. Subsequently, safety businesses had scanned a few flights prior to the known as used to be declared as detrimental and a hoax.
An investigation used to be launched with the police monitoring down the subscriber of the cell phone from which the call used to be placed via its SIM card.
“The call used to be placed from a number belonging to a 23-year-old resident of Pune. The accused confessed his involvement in the case and used to be found to be serving IndiGo Airlines as a customer service officer at the Pune airport,” said a senior police officer.
“On sustained interrogation, the accused confessed that he had performed this as an act of revenge as the airways had given him a verbal realize to give a boost to his performance in three months or face departmental action. He used to be reportedly depressed because of this and made this call out of frustration,” the police added.
The accused has been placed below arrest and the SIM card used for making the hoax call has been recovered, police said.
