TRICHY: A 45-year-old forest department body of workers clinched silver medal within the ongoing Asian Powerlifting Championship 2018 at Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Asian Powerlifting Federation and Powerlifting India have organised Asian Powerlifting Championship 2018 at Udaipur, Rajasthan which started on May 1 and can cross on till May 6 2018.
Though sportspersons from across 14 countries from Asia are collaborating within the championship, all the three medals within the Master 1 lifter tournament in 74kg category were won by way of Indian powerlifters.
A silver medalist on this category, A Manimaran is a local of Ponmalai in Trichy who has were given his first international medal.
Powerlifting is composed of 3 attempts at maximal weight on three lifts- squat, bench press, and deadlift. Manimaran were given gold in squat elevate. He were given silver in bench press and deadlift thereby securing an overall silver medal within the event.
