Engg grad swims sans life jacket, drowns in lake

BENGALURU: An engineering graduate drowned in a lake at Sri Revana Siddeshwara (SRS) hillock, Avverahalli near Ramanagara on Saturday after he allegedly got rid of the existence jacket provided via the shuttle organisers, police said.


The deceased, Chetan C, 24, used to be a resident of Bojana Hosahalli, Whitefield and son of local BJP leader Chinnaiah. The incident came about round 5pm on Saturday when he went to the hillock along with 9 others. They had been on a one-day out of doors shuttle organised via Campfire Circle, a local lodge, said Ramanagara Rural police.


Chetan allegedly got rid of the existence jacket given via the organizers ahead of plunging into the lake. After masking a long way, he started drowning. “We had been informed in regards to the incident via his friends. We rushed to the spot with a rescue crew from the fireplace and emergency products and services. We couldn’t to find him till late evening and the operation needed to be stopped due to unhealthy mild,” said law enforcement officials.


Chetan’s body used to be fished out at 10am Sunday. Based on a complaint via Chinnaiah, police have registered a case of negligence in opposition to the Campfire Circle lodge. “We will arrest the ones accountable once their role is confirmed within the case,” police said.
