MADURAI/COIMBATORE: Miscreants torched a TNSTC bus in Tuticorin on Friday evening, even prior to its passengers may just climb down. Three passengers suffered accidents within the incident and were taken to the health facility.
With a statewide bandh known as via opposition parties on Friday in protest towards the Tuticorin police firing, the miscreants are suspected to be contributors of teams or parties supporting the bandh.
The bus which originated from Udankudi used to be on its way to Tirunelveli when the incident happened. It used to be stopped via three males who got here on two bikes at Karungulam bridge close to Srivaikundam. They attacked a lone policeman posted as security and chased him away. They then set the bus on fireplace even prior to the passengers had were given down. They poured petrol on the again seat and set it on fireplace. The injured were Sudalaikannu, 70, of Meignanapuram and his wife Valliammal and Jabakumar, 25, of Karaikudi. Police sources said that Valliammal has suffered severe burns.

There were sporadic protests mostly via DMK cadre condemning the arrest of the birthday party working president MK Stalin in Chennai. Advocates boycotted the courts for the second day whilst farmers boycotted the per thirty days grievances redressal day assembly within the district collectorate. Tamil Maanila Congress leader GK Vasan, who used to be in Coimbatore, advised newshounds that shutting down Sterlite plant in Tuticorin used to be the one technique to quell the protests. "Rather than approaching the issue with a political perspective, the government should handle it with a humanitarian perspective. The Sterlite plant should be immediately shutdown and the arrested protesters from Tuticorin should be released," he said.

About 90% of the department stores remained open. However, some strengthen could be seen within the rural wallet of Madurai as 20% of the department stores downed shutters.
