Gurugram to get 40 more open air gyms in coming months

GURUGRAM: As many as 40 more such gyms can be arrange in coming months throughout different places in the city. The total value of the undertaking is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.

MCG has inaugurated 5 outside gyms in the final one month in wards three, eight, five, 18 and 15, while two of those were inaugurated on Sunday morning by PWD minister Rao Narbir Singh and mayor Madhu Azad.


The undertaking was first of all proposed with a lesser choice of gyms, however it was later revised. “The gyms were put in in order to give the general public a spot to paintings on their well being in their neighbourhoods without bills. More such gyms will arise in the city over the approaching months,” stated Azad.


Six machines, including an air walker, roving gadget, elliptical exerciser, air swing, seated chest press and leg press can be put in at every of those gyms. Talking concerning the upkeep, MCG officers stated that the duty and maintenance of those gyms can be shared by the company, citizens and councillors of concerned spaces. “Given that many parks in the city are actually maintained by the RWAs, the gyms would mechanically fall below their supervision,” stated Ajay Nirala, executive officer, horticulture, MCG.


MCG had arrange a few open-air gyms in the city a couple of years in the past, as a pilot, below company social duty fund. Although the reaction was excellent, MCG did not assign any person the maintenance paintings. The proposals had come after Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar introduced that gigantic parks in all districts would have open gyms. However, nothing much had happened past the announcement.
