COIMBATORE: Extoling the rustic’s prowess in producing generic drugs, J Jayaseelan, vice-president of Indian Pharmaceutical Association, on Saturday was hoping that the domestic companies launch a brand new drug within the global marketplace.

But, we are but to independently launch a brand new drug within the global marketplace,” he stated on the sidelines of the inaugural serve as of a seminar on commercial pharmacy, high quality keep watch over and assurance, and control on the Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Paramedical Sciences.
“Product patent was once offered in 2005. But the domestic pharmaceutical companies have failed to develop new drugs due to lack of research and development actions,” Jayaseelan lamented.
