Kurla minor's hubby, mom held for murder

MUMBAI: Two days after a 17-year-old woman died at her house in Kurla, her husband and his mother have been arrested in connection along with her murder. A post-mortem document has showed that the woman used to be strangled. The police have registered a case of murder.
Deputy commissioner of police Rajiv Jain stated that the woman's husband, Rafiullah Khan, has been arrested for murder whilst his mother, Razia, has been charged with destroying evidence.

The police stated that because the woman is underage they may also invoke sections of an anti-child marriage law towards the husband and his mother.

On Friday, Khan and some of his family members have been on their strategy to bury the body at a graveyard in Kurla when the police stopped the funeral procession and asked Khan to take the body to a health facility for a post-mortem. "An anonymous caller informed us about the suspicious death," stated a police officer.

A few neighbours also instructed the police Rafiullah, a drug addict, suspected the woman's fidelity and that he and his mother used to torture her. Khan married the woman ultimate April.

The neighbours also alleged that Rafiullah had strangled the woman using a dupatta. His mother allegedly attempted to hush up the son's crime by claiming that the woman had committed suicide. She also hastened the burial prior to her son's crime came to the fore, the police stated.
