Missing students of blind school traced

JORHAT: Police on Tuesday traced 14 visually challenged students of Jorhat Blind Institute who had been missing since Monday morning.
Police said the scholars left the institute without permission from the authorities concerned in protest against loss of amenities on the faculty. All the scholars had been hostel boarders.

SP (Jorhat) Vaibhav Nimbalkar said, "The students left the institute without permission from the authorities due to some difficulties faced by them in the school. On receiving the complaint, police launched an investigation and confirmed that all the students have reached their respective homes. School authorities have been asked to be more attentive towards the visually challenged students to ensure their security in future."


Of the 14 students, eight are girls in the age group of 14 to 20 years.


The students of the institute had been protesting against loss of elementary amenities and lack of good enough teachers on the institute since May three . he faculty does not have any trainer for science and arithmetic for a very long time but the govt is but to take any step.


In March this year, the scholars of the institute had staged an illustration in entrance of Jorhat DC's workplace in improve in their demands. They had additionally submitted a memorandum to the CM mentioning their demands.
