HYDERABAD: South Zone police arrested 14 other people and 5 native journalists in the case of the mob violence within the Old City that resulted within the dying of a 52-year-old guy at Chandrayangutta.
Influenced by rumours of child kidnapping gangs on the prowl, the mob attacked a group of cross-dressers at 11pm on May 26 close to Azeem Hotel in Hafeez Baba Nagar, Chandrayangutta. A cleric got here to the rescue of the victims and controlled to convince the mob not to resort to violence right through the holy month.
While the cleric controlled to save the duo, another team centered two other people, Chandraiah and Swamy, close to Deccan Medical Hall in Chandrayangutta and attacked them with stones. Chandrayya, 52, succumbed to injuries at Osmania General Hospital within the early hours of May 27.
After the incident, police analysed CCTV photos of the violence and arrested 14 other people, together with a juvenile culprit. The accused were despatched to judicial remand.
