NEW DELHI: Senior recommend Mukul Rohatgi has been appointed as an eminent jurist in the variety committee for appointment of the Lokpal, the Centre advised the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
Attorney General Ok Ok Venugopal advised a bench headed via Justice Ranjan Gogoi that a decision was once taken on May 11 appointing Rohatgi as an eminent jurist in the variety committee, which is chaired via the Prime Minister.
Rohatgi was once appointed as Attorney General of India after the Narendra Modi government assumed energy in May 2014. He resigned from the post in June 2017.
The post of eminent jurist in the Lokpal variety panel was once mendacity vacant because the loss of life of senior recommend P P Rao on September 11, 2017.
The bench, on hearing the submissions, posted the matter for further hearing on July 2.
