Odisha: 1.97 lakh MSME units create 5.96 lakh jobs in 4 years

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha executive on Monday mentioned 1.97 lakh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) units were established in the state, growing 5.96 lakh jobs in the ultimate four years.

These units were established with an funding of Rs 10,320 crore in the ultimate four years from 2014-15 to 2017-18, mentioned MSME Minister Prafulla Samal.

Altogether, three.22 lakh MSMEs were established with an funding of Rs 15,959 crore and employment generation to 13.35 lakh individuals till March 2018.


Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday reviewed the performance of MSME department.


The minister mentioned three,752 motivational camps were organised across the state to encourage 323,451 early life for putting in place MSMEs, while 20,049 youths were supplied with entrepreneurship training beneath Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDP).


District Level Single Window Clearance Authorities have approved 542 tasks between April 2015 and March 2018 with a complete undertaking cost of Rs 2,040 crore and employment doable to 21,730 individuals, Samal knowledgeable.


Out of those, 67 tasks have already began production and 119 are beneath implementation, the Minister added.
