OHRC asks DGP to inquire into allegation of torture of girls in police station

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Monday requested the state director general of police and the commissioner of police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack to inquire into the allegation of physical torture of 2 ladies at a police station right here.

It directed that the reports be submitted inside of per week.

The inspector in-charge has been shifted from the Nayapally police station.


Police mentioned the force's body of workers from Nayapalli police station had gone to Behera Sahi area after receiving a complaint a couple of conflict between two families over a belongings dispute on May 6.


Two lady constables had been assaulted through the two sisters and injured while they had been pacifying the agitated families. The accused, including the complainant, had been arrested and brought to the police station.


A case has been registered against the sisters beneath quite a lot of sections of IPC at the foundation of a complaint filed through the lady constables.
