BENGALURU: Pourakarmikas in different wards around the city have been refusing to show up for work following a row over non-payment of salaries. Pourakarmikas say that even though the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) began paying them immediately as an alternative of being paid by contractors, arrears for a number of months have been pending.
