Hubballi: Union ministers H N Ananthkumar and Ramesh Jigajinagi criticised Congress whilst campaigning in Gadag and Dharwad districts on Tuesday. Kumar challenged chief minister Siddaramaiah to prove his allegation that BJP chief Amit Shah and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy travelled in the same airplane or renounce.
Kumar advised journalists in Gadag that Congress has struck an alliance with JD(S) to rule the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
“If Siddaramaiah has morality, let him destroy the alliance with JD(S) in BBMP,” he challenged. The Union minister sought votes for Gadag BJP candidate Anil Menasinakai.
Addressing a marketing campaign at Soratur village, Kumar stated, “Siddaramaiah’s govt is a ‘Meter Baddi’ (meter interest) govt whilst the next govt of B S Yeddyurappa shall be a zero p.c interest govt. While farmers had been killed at Soratur a few years ago, Congress leaders have no longer visited the village so far,” he stated.
Jigajinagi advised journalists in Hubballi that Congress leaders would cling themselves enmass if the injustice meted out to Dalits via Congress is listed out.
“Congress leaders are spreading rumours that the BJP is attempting to take away reservation to seek Dalit votes. Congress is depicting Dalits as stupid. BJP is running the federal government based on the foundations of Dr B R Ambedkar. If the Centre gets rid of reservation, I can no longer be in the govt. However, the fact is that the BJP govt is operating for the welfare of Dalits,” he stated.
Rebellion out in the open
The variations in the BJP broke out in the presence of Union minister Ramesh Jigajinagi at Indira Nagar in Hubballi on Tuesday when former MLA Veerabhadrappa Halaharvi openly criticised the birthday celebration leadership for denying him a ticket from Hubballi-Dharwad East, thereby proceeding injustice to Madiga (left) group.
