Rajini’s Kaala won’t be released in Karnataka

BENGALURU: Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth’s new film Kaala may not be released within the state as the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) claimed the distributors have backtracked mentioning the Cauvery river water-sharing dispute.

The film is slated for June 7 free up and its trailer was out on Monday. Following this, pro-Kannada organisations pressured KFCC to prevent the film, arguing that Rajinikanth had taken an anti-Karnataka stand within the Cauvery factor. Sa Ra Govindu, president of KFCC, confirmed that Kaala received’t be released in Karnataka. “Requests came from all over Karnataka in quest of to ban the film within the state. As we weren't in a position to take a choice on the factor on our own, we referred to as a gathering of the film’s distributors and manufacturers on Tuesday. After assessing the placement, they decided not to free up the film as they really feel it could create a legislation and order drawback which isn't of their trade hobby,” stated Govindu.
