Second air monitoring station not set up yet in Gurugram

GURUGRAM: The Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) had in 2016 announced the setting up of Gurugram’s 2d air high quality monitoring station. The site — IMT Manesar —was once finalised by means of the HSPCB officers, EPCA chairman Bhure Lal and participants of the civic authority.

Jai Bhagwan, the regional officer of HSPCB advised TOI, “Nineteen air high quality monitoring stations had been proposed in Haryana. In 2013-14, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) had sanctioned 30 air high quality monitoring stations for Haryana, including 3 in Gurugram. However, in July 2017, HSPCB determined to move ahead with 19 monitoring stations in the state.


The lone ambient air high quality monitoring station at Vikas Sadan measures air pollution level in the radius of 5 to six kilometres.


The determination to install extra stations in Gurugram was once taken after the Supreme Court approved the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of CPCB.


GRAP gives out separate set of motion plan relying on the ranges of air high quality — average, poor, very poor and serious.
