Student injured in group clash at Kolkata college

KOLKATA: A 2d year BCom pupil was severely injured when a conflict amongst scholars broke out at Dinabandhu Andrews College at Garia on Tuesday.
Debabrata Guha Roy, the injured pupil, was first taken to Bangur health center and later to SSKM as his condition deteriorated within the night time. Two other scholars have been also admitted within the health center because the conflict left 12 scholars injured.


Snigdhha Saha, the overall secretary of the Trinamool Congress-run scholars union claimed that a segment of school scholars backed via outsiders reached the varsity union room at 1pm and thrashed the students mercilessly.


Saha alleged that the outsiders have been taking the name of a Trinamool Congress native councillor before beating them up.


“We have been bowled over via the unexpected assault. But probably the most unfortunate subject is that the outsiders said that they have been enjoying enhance of a birthday celebration councillor,” Saha said.


Locals said that the conflict resulted out of ruling birthday celebration’s factionalism in Garia area. Though a senior police officer showed the conflict between two teams of students, he said that no person sustained severe injuries.
