CHENNAI: Around 91% of the students who appeared for the Tamil Nadu state board higher secondary certificates (Class XII) checks handed, mentioned college education minister Okay A Sengottaiyan on Wednesday. The total move percentage dipped from 92.1% ultimate 12 months to 91.1% this 12 months.
This is the first time that the total move percentage has dipped in the ultimate 5 years. Every 12 months, from 2014 to 2017, there used to be a slight building up from the former 12 months.
Nearly 94% of ladies and 87% of boys handed the checks that were held in between March 1 and April 6 this 12 months.
As many as 231 students have scored in the vary of above 1180 on 1200 marks. Among them, 50 are boys and remaining 181 are women
A complete of 9.33 lakh students, together with eight.6 college students, appeared for the checks.
Virudhunagar district topped the state with 97%. Erode and Tirupur districts went to protected the second and 3rd ranks by means of recording 96.3% and 96.1%.
Chennai district’s performance marginally advanced from 92.99% ultimate 12 months to 93.09% this 12 months.
The minister admitted that the questions were tricky compared to the former years and mentioned that they were designed in such a way that students would be capable of care for national-level entrance exams higher someday.
He warned schools which attempted to advertise their admissions by means of promoting toppers. The state had earlier abolished score system.
