Turned away by cops, man nabs thief himself

BENGALURU: When the police said they were too busy to probe a robbery at his store, 26-year-old businessman Bharath Rathod did not waste time whining about it. Instead, he trusted his guts and performed ‘Sherlock Holmes’ to track and nab the thief after a high-voltage chase in the busy KR Market house.

Rathod, who owns Punagar Fashions in Chickpet, stuck the thief after matching the strolling style, 3 finger rings and slippers as captured by the CCTV.

The accused has been recognized as Jameel Pasha, a resident of Gangondanahalli in Chandra Layout.

The thief had visited Rathod’s store on May 1 at 7.30pm. As Rathod used to be busy attending to different shoppers, the thief took advantage of the situation and vanished after pulling out a bundle of forex notes from the cash field. It used to be simplest in the night time did Rathod notice that Rs 30,000 had long past missing.

“I scanned the CCTV photos for several days and in spite of everything found a young guy bending over the cash counter and taking money. Though I went to the nearest police station for lend a hand, not anything came about,” Rathod said.

Rathod stored rewinding the CCTV and performed the photos again and again. “So a lot in order that the image of the thief used to be ingrained in my thoughts. His strolling style, the darkblue jeans he wore and the black slippers and his silvercoloured rings got etched in my thoughts,” Rathod said.


Bizman stuck thief after one-km chase

Things took an enchanting turn around 4pm on May nine when Rathod used to be strolling in one of the most lanes adjacent to his father’s store in D R Market. “A early life stuck my attention. The pain of shedding the money and the image of the early life were flashing in entrance of me as I noticed it used to be the same guy whostruck myshop. When Iwent near him and requested who he used to be, he started to run,” Rathod said.


What adopted used to be a km-long chase, he said, and added: “Passersby and fellow investors did not understandwhat used to be happening. But I in spite of everything managed to nabhim.Hewasthen taken totheCity Market police station.” But Rathod needed to come across every other hurdle. “When I passed over him to police and I used to be requested to come back tomorrow to record a grievance since there used to be a shortage of workforce dueto election.”


Rathod used to be in for a shock when visited the station subsequent day — the thief had been set unfastened. When puzzled, police personnelcounteredhim mentioning that he will have to have filed a grievance the previous day itself. He alerted senior cops. Rathod said: “I got a decision from the City Market police mentioning that they've stuck the thief. When I reached the station, I in spite of everything saw the thief put behind bars.”
