Woman carries knife at Lokayukta office, detained

BENGALURU: Barely two months after a man stabbed Lokayukta Justice P Vishwanath Shetty multiple times in his place of job chamber in MS Building, a lady sporting a knife was once intercepted by way of law enforcement officials on responsibility at the construction’s front on Thursday. The lady was once later arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

Cops were alerted when the newly installed door-frame metal detector beeped when the girl, clad in a sari, tried to pass through at 11.30 am. Women police pulled her apart and conducted a search. They came upon the knife hidden inside of a report she was once sporting. Justice Shetty was once in his chamber when the girl was once detained.


Senior police, including Chandragupta, deputy commissioner of police (central), briefly arrived at the scene and escorted the girl, mentioned to be 55 years previous, to Vidhana Soudha police station situated in the same construction. Sources say the girl was once questioned for seven hours ahead of she was once arrested and produced in a neighborhood court docket.


Police are puzzled with the contents of the report she was once sporting. “It contained some papers by which she has written names of politicians, bureaucrats and government officers, accusing them of different offences,” police mentioned. “She claims she has been incessantly visiting the Lokayukta for the previous 4 years. Efforts are on to trace her circle of relatives. We will know her motive most effective after additional investigation.”


She has been booked under IPC sections 353 (assault or legal drive to discourage public servant from discharge of his responsibility) and 423 (dishonest or fraudulent execution of deed of transfer containing false commentary of attention) On March 7, Justice Shetty was once stabbed by way of Tejraj Sharma, a complainant, who casually walked into his chamber. The door-frame metal detector wasn’t running and have been out of order for months. Shetty was once taken to Mallya health facility where he underwent surgeries and was once handled for every week. Justice Shetty returned to work on April 23 — 46 days later. Immediately after that assault, security was once beefed up and a new doorframe metaldetector was once installed.
