CHENNAI: The police on Friday arrested a 36-year-old man, pronouncing he had murdered his wife ahead of trying to make it seem that she died of a heart assault suffered whilst attempting suicide at their area in Maduravoyal. Investigators altered the case and registered it beneath IPC Section 302 (murder) in line with a preliminary postmortem record. A courtroom later despatched Srinivasan to prison.
The police stated Srinivasan, a plumber, had lodged a grievance on the Maduravoyal station on Thursday night time, pronouncing his wife Indirani, 33, attempted to kill herself, had a heart assault and died.
A team of police body of workers examined the frame and located injures across the neck. But Srinivasan claimed that she had been disillusioned over the mounting debts that they had run up. The girl’s parents who weren't satisfied together with his reply lodged a police grievance alleging foul play within the demise. After receiving a preliminary postmortem record, police questioned him.
During interrogation, Srinivasan confessed to killing Indirani and trying to stage a drama of her demise.
