19 bikers detained for rash driving, let off

CHENNAI: The visitors police at the side of regulation and order body of workers on Sunday detained 19 bikers on fees of rash driving on Kamarajar Salai.
The police said six body of workers from the Abhiramapuram police station were carrying out automobile checks close to Durgabhai Deshmukh Road and visitors body of workers were maintaining vigil on Kamarajar Salai. At 1am, three youths on one motorbike were dashing at the stretch with out helmets.

“They were driving their motorcycles in a rash and negligent approach inflicting hindrance to the public,” said a senior police authentic.

A complete of 19 bikers were intercepted and caught for dashing. “We nabbed them earlier than they could perform any stunt,” the officer said.


The early life, all of whom were of their teens or of their mid-twenties, hailed from Red Hills, Madhavaram, Perambur, Tambaram, Sowcarpet and Periamet. The police warned the early life and later allow them to off after informing their parents. Their motorcycles were detained and a case for overspeeding was registered against them.


The crackdown took place after the police rounded up 30 bikers who carried out stunts and were all for racing close to Thiru Vi Ka bridge in Adyar remaining week. Five other people were booked for negligent driving.


“We have greater the layers of barricades. Checking will be intensified between 8.30pm and 2am since bikers employ the empty roads at night,” said the visitors police officer. In a bid to curb such bad stunts, the police have blocked bridges in the night.
