PALANPUR: Two individuals were arrested on Saturday in reference to the attack on a 13-year-old Dalit boy by way of higher caste youths from Darbar neighborhood in Bechraji the city of Mehsa na district on Wednesday. Two other accused within the case are yet to be arrested.
The incident took place when victim Mahesh Rathod had come for a haircut in Bechraji since the barbers in his village Vithlapur in Ahmedabad district refused to serve Dalits. A video showing Rathod being slapped and kicked round went viral on social media on Thursday.
Rathod, is a category VIII graduate and belongs to the Valmiki (a scheduled caste) neighborhood.
