5 drunk men attack golgappa vendor, brother for refusing to serve them

LUDHIANA: Five drunk males assaulted a street seller and his brother for refusing to serve them golgappa water on Tuesday night.

The miscreants attacked golgappa seller Brij Mohan and his brother Vinod Kumar — each citizens of Bharti Colony — with rods and in addition pelted them with stones.

Kumar told the police, “I run a grocery store in Bharti Colony and Mohan, my more youthful brother, is a golgappa seller. After polishing off his paintings, Mohan got here to my store along with his pushcart to help me shut my store round 10pm. There, 5 males approached him and requested him to serve them golgappa water.”

Even as Mohan told them that the entire components of the snack have been over, the 5 insisted on having the water. “When Mohan refused, they started misbehaving with him. As the neighbouring shopkeepers intervened, the drunk males fled from there,” Kumar added.


A couple of mins later when the brother duo was on approach house, the miscreants faced them and attacked them rods. “They also pelted us with stones. After a stone hit Mohan on head, they fled from there,” Kumar added.


Salem Tabri police station investigating officer Prabhjeet Singh mentioned, “Both Kumar and Mohan have been taken to civil medical institution, from the place they have been referred to a non-public medical institution. The accused live within the duo’s locality and attacked them in an under the influence of alcohol situation.”


Police have registered a case underneath sections 323, 341, 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 of the IPC towards accused Rajpal, Sonu, Yashpal, Davinder and Jaswinder.
