HIRIYUR (CHITRADURGA): At least 5 passengers from Tamil Nadu have been killed on the spot as an SUV rammed into a parked lorry, on Wednesday morning at Javanagondanahalli of Hiriyur close to Chitradurga in Karnataka.
Toyota Qualis was heading from Goa to Tamil Nadu. While four persons - Saddam Hussain (22), Saddam (21), Touseef Ahmed (24) and Shahrukh (20) - have been killed on the spot, Asif (21) died within the Chitradurga medical institution.
Three extra persons have been injured one of whose condition was stated to be critical.
All the passengers within the automobile have been from Ambur the town of Vellur district in Tamil Nadu.
Hiriyur Rural police have registered the case.
