6-8-hour power cuts follow dust storm

NOIDA AND GREATER NOIDA: Nearly 6 to 8 hours outage was once reported from sectors 28, 37, 29, 30, 18, 20, 100, 132, 51 and extra on Friday evening and Saturday morning because of Friday evening’s mud and thunderstorm. While pre-emptive regimen shutdown was once resorted all over the mud storm, citizens rue of long outages much after the storm had settled down.

“There was once no energy from 8pm to 2am in sectors 28, 29 and 37. This is a ordinary characteristic with the onset of warmth wave amidst string of storms. But until when will the ability division cater to attend its lax infrastructure with free hanging cables or inaccurate underground cables, overheating of transformers, worn-out poles, paucity of feeder circuits and so on.?” questioned brigadier (rtd) Ashok Hak, a resident of Sector 28.


Pawan Yadav, a resident of Sector 100, rued that the area gained most energy cuts since closing seven years.


A Ok Singh, superintending engineer, PVVNL stated, “40 poles have been uprooted in rural areas with many bushes. But inside of Noida town there was once no major problem and gear was once restored by 11 pm in maximum sectors,” Singh told TOI.
