After Hubballi, Belagavi is all set to get e-toilets

Belagavi: Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) is planning to put in seven coin-operated e-toilets within the city. Once they are put in, Belagavi would be the fourth city in Karnataka after Mysuru, Hubballi and Bengaluru to have such toilets.
BCC has made up our minds to put in e-toilets at Fort Lake Garden, Dr B R Ambedkar Garden Road, Shetti Galli, Dharmaveer Sambhaji Circle, close to the primary railway gate in Tilakwadi, close to Swimming Pool in Basaveshwar Circle and at Shrinagar Garden.

BCC has plans to put in sanitary pad incinerators too within the e-toilets. While each and every bathroom will cost Rs 7 lakh, the challenge can be funded through the Rs100 crore special fund granted through the state government. If the e-0toilets get a favorable response, BCC plans to put in 10 extra e-toilets within the city.

“The e-toilets can be opened for public use inside a month. We have planned to clean and make proper usage of all public toilets within the city. The previous toilets can be upgraded to this style within the coming days,” stated BCC commissioner Krishnegouda Tayannavar.

The e-toilets are modular and are product of metal. They have user-friendly digital interfaces to verify cleanliness and hygiene to the user. These are automatic toilets which now not require an operator. It can be monitored remotely over web. These toilets incorporate full-cycle way in sustainable sanitation through integrating electric, mechanical and web-mobile applied sciences. They control access, utilization, cleaning and far off tracking functions with a couple of income options.

One can use these toilets through putting a Rs 5 coin. Water can be sprinkled routinely within the toilet after a user goes out of it. The bathroom can have automated LED lamps which turn best when a user enters. All these toilets are GPS enabled and BCC can track how many people use it in a day and the quantity of water they used.

Each e-toilet unit can have separate toilets for women and men.
