NIA takes Mubarak to Sathyamanglam, Bengaluru

Coimbatore: The National Investigation Agency took Mubarak, the prime accused in Sasikumar homicide case, to Sathyamanglam and later to Bengaluru on Monday as part of its investigation. Mubarak had stayed in Bengaluru for several months whilst he was absconding from the police since the homicide.
The NIA got the custody of Mubarak, who was lodged at the Salem central prison, from May 31 to June 7, 2018. He was delivered to the city on Saturday and taken to a mosque, the crime scene and different places.

Various devices, receipts and challans seized from his house were checked and he was inquired about them.

Soon after the homicide, Mubarak had long past to Sathyamanglam, where a chum had harboured him, and later to Bengaluru. Since people were also interested by helping him disguise, the NIA is attempting to probe about their involvement in more than a few crimes.

Sasikumar of Subramaniyampalayam was hacked to dying by way of a four-member gang on September 22, 2016, whilst he was returning house on his bike. On June 7, Mubarak will probably be produced in a Chennai courtroom after the custody ends.


The NIA team is likely to document chargesheet against Mubarak and some other accused Syed Abudhakir by way of June-end.


The CB-CID had filed an meantime chargesheet against Saddam Hussain and Abudhakir, the other two accused within the case. They are also investigating with each member of Popular Front of India to determine their involvement within the crime.


As in keeping with CB-CID, which was previous investigating the case, it was a message from Sasikumar that brought about enmity between him and Mubarak. After this message, he deliberate the homicide, they'd said. But since this was a deliberate homicide, officers said that there might be many people involved who attempted to hide the crime, prolonged help to the accused financially and otherwise and harbored them. “All these are being probed,” said an authentic.
