KOLKATA: Controversy has erupted over two recipients’ refusal to accept the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2017 that was once introduced on twitter via the Sangeet Natak Akademi (SNA) on Tuesday. The tweet discussed that the overall council of the Akademi has decided on 34 (together with two joint awards) artists of India who have made a mark as young talents of their respective fields of the appearing arts for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2017. Featured on this list as joint winners are Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan – both of who have refused to accept the award.
Reacting to the announcement, Amaan has tweeted pronouncing: “While every award is a brilliant achievement and an honour particularly for an artist, we will not have the ability to settle for the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Purskar for the Year 2017 in the field of Music which has been introduced WITHOUT OUR CONSENT via Sangeet Natak Academy at this level of our lives. After serving the arena of tune for over twenty five years, we've been very blessed to have won many rewards from tune lovers however there are many young musicians who deserve this award greater than us. Gratitude to the entire respected committee individuals .#SangeetNatakAcademy #Awardwithoutconsent #toolateintheday”.
On being asked if he thinks there may be any planned try to undermine his ability and years of revel in, 40-year-old Amaan advised TOI: “I'm very moderate. I in truth feel everyone is best than me. Abba (Ustad Amjad Ali Khan) at all times says: ‘Don’t be the most efficient however be probably the most liked one. Love all and reward all because maa Saraswati is living in all’.” Refusing to judge others, he added, “Everyone is fantastic and that’s what I imagine in. It’s been a long journey. According to the SNA website online, “Sangeet Natak Akademi has made up our minds to institute “Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar” from the 12 months 2006 to be awarded to artists who have shown / demonstrated conspicuous ability in the fields of tune, dance and drama. Young outstanding practitioners upto the age of 40 years might be eligible to be thought to be for Yuva Puraskar annually. Age as at the date of nomination won might be reckoned from 1st April of that 12 months.”
