Arvind Kejriwal’s iftar a quiet affair, LG among those missing

NEW DELHI: The chief minister’s Arvind Kejriwal iftar party on Monday was once a quiet affair, as many VIPs had been missing together with vice chairman Venkaiah Naidu, lieutenant governor Anil Baijal, former vice-president Hamid Ansari and previous CM Sheila Dikshit.

AAP chief Amanatullah Khan, embroiled in the controversy over the alleged attack of the manager secretary, was once also missing from the party. An professional from Urdu Academy mentioned invitations had been sent to all constitutional leaders and dignitaries.


Deputy CM Manish Sisodia at the side of cabinet ministers Gopal Rai, Satyender Jain, Imran Hussain, MLA Sanjeev Jha, AAP chief spokesperson Dilip Pandey at the side of AAP councillor Ramesh Matiala had been seen. The tournament was once organised at Palika Services Officers Institute in Nehru Park at the side of Urdu Academy.


Kejriwal, while addressing the gathering, mentioned, “I pray to god to give us the energy to hold ahead the venture that we began years ago in opposition to corruption. There is conspiracy going on to break us but god is with those that observe the best path. We want you all satisfied Ramzan.”


The tournament had many tents, at the side of a separate enclosure for Kejriwal and his special guests. The well-planned menu integrated several counters offering each vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.
