The Bengaluru department of South Western Railway (SWR) has now installed bottle crushers at KSR city, Yeshwantpur, Cantonment and Krishnarajapuram stations to minimise the plastic water bottles.
Passengers who input their cell quantity on the system after losing a bottle into it is going to get a cashback of Rs 5 on their Paytm wallet.
Divisional Railway Manager (Bengaluru railway department) R S Saxena, who inaugurated the facility at KSR city railway station on the World Environmental Day on Tuesday, mentioned: "We have tied up with a private firm to install automatic noiseless bottle crushing machines in major railway stations of Bengaluru division. We will also increase the number of these machines at the stations based on the response from passengers".
“This may even be sure that plastic bottles don't seem to be dumped on railway tracks or stations premises. It could also be an eco-friendly technique to eliminate plastic bottles," he mentioned.
