Bellandur Lake froth haunts commuters

BENGALURU: Within days after the deputy chief minister and minister for Bengaluru Development G Parameshwara inspected the Bellandur lake and promised answers to its air pollution woes, froth continues to hang-out commuters and citizens around.

On Wednesday morning, froth rising from the Bellandur Kodi area were given annoyed as a result of the high winds and started to bother vehicular commuters on the lake facet.


Seema Sharma of Kasamukta Bellandur, a citizen volunteer team, mentioned they are living with the froth drawback on a daily basis. "Froth is a regular phenomenon at the water body. During rains and heavy winds, like it happened today morning, froth flies on to roads and residential areas in the neighborhood. Sprinklers and other measures are temporary. What we need is long term and permanent solution. It can happen only when steps are taken to prevent the lake from getting polluted further," she added.


Bellandur, the most important water frame of Bengaluru, is infamous for heavy air pollution ranges. Despite the raps from the National Green Tribunal and Karnataka High Court, the state govt is dragging its toes on executing the professional suggestions to save lots of the lake.
