LUDHIANA: Samrala police on Wednesday arrested a person for abetment to suicide after a frame of a person with whom he had a battle was recovered from Doraha canal on Tuesday. The accused was known as Sohan Singh of Samrala.
Jyoti, wife of the deceased 45-year-old Lal Chand of Kang Mohalla in Samrala, informed police officers that her husband worked in a manufacturing facility that made agricultural implements. She added that some days in the past he had were given a person employed in the same manufacturing facility which angered the accused.
The wife of the deceased mentioned on June 22 Sohan Singh beat her husband on the manufacturing facility and even threatened to kill him. She added that on account of the concern her husband went lacking after that and didn’t go back home.
Police officials mentioned that lifeless frame of the deceased was discovered near Gurthali bridge near Doraha. They added that after the identity of the frame, his members of the family on the village had been informed about the incident.
Cops mentioned that as Samrala Police were given information about the lifeless frame of the deceased being recovered from the canal, a police workforce reached the crime spot and in addition met the family of the deceased. They added that the family held the accused answerable for the extraordinary step taken through Lal Chand. Samrala police later booked the accused below Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of Indian Penal Code.
Station House Officer (SHO), Inspector Bhupinder Singh, who is investigating the case, mentioned that the accused was arrested from Samrala house on Wednesday morning. He added that the deceased had not left any suicide word behind.
Police officials mentioned that the accused would possibly have had monetary transaction with the deceased.
