VADODARA: A hectic road in Karelibaug witnessed high drama on Thursday afternoon, when three unidentified males performed a bold theft of Rs 6 lakh, from an worker of a cash management products and services agency.

According to police, the theft happened at 1.30pm, when Ankit Thakur, an worker of Writer Safeguard Ltd, was on his way to replenish the cash in the HDFC ATM at Spring Hill Complex. We have sounded an alert and begun a search for the accused, who may try to flee the city," said R I Jadeja, Karelibaug police inspector. "It seems the gang had reconnoitred how the van would replenish the ATM and planned the robbery," he added.
