Deve Gowda must not protect Rangappa at the cost of KSOU students: BJP leader

MYSURU: Former MLC and senior BJP leader G Madhusudhana urged former Prime Mnister and JD(S) president HD Deve Gowda not to give protection to his relative, former vice-chancellor of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) at the price of lakhs of the school’s scholars, whose careers are shrouded in uncertainty in the aftermath of the University Grants Commission de-recognising its classes.
Madhusudhna said that he was ready to participate in an open debate with Rangappa over the KSOU, and University of Mysore (UoM) scams.

“Let the former VC of KSOU Prof. MG Krishnan reasonable the talk. I have written to the Karnataka upper education minister GT Devegowda to schedule the talk, and decide the venue,” Madhusudhana said, adding that he didn't want to get involved in a ‘political street combat’ at the factor.

Charging Rangappa with destroying the future of just about 10 lakh scholars of KSOU, Madhusudhana said, “When he was the KSOU VC, he was occupied with plenty of scams. He is undeserving to become an advisor to the higher education minister.”

Madhusudhana called at the former PM, and the brand new upper education minister to solve the KSOU imbroglio, and to verify justice to all scholars. “Rangappa cheated lakhs of students via becoming a member of fingers with private institutions and offering technical classes through correspondence, which was illegal,” said the former MLC.

Pointing to a notice despatched via the Distance Education Council (DEC) in opposition to operating para-medial and technical classes through correspondence in 2011, Madhusushdana said, “But Rangappa, who was the then VC, didn't care. He launched Unani, naturopathy and para-medical classes. Who is paying the cost for his errors today?”

Madhusudhana asked Rangappa, “Why did you fail to get a keep order in opposition to the DEC notice? What made you pay huge sums to advocates in Delhi? Why did you not practice for UGC popularity when you had been at the helm? Why are you blaming Krishnan?”

Laying the blame for the appointment scam that rocked the University of Mysore at Rangappa’s ft, Madhusudhana added, “He is chargeable for moving UoM registrar D Bharati, since he wanted to suppose control of the school’s management. Now, professors are queuing as much as become the UoM VC.”
