VIJAYAWADA: Former TV anchor Tejaswini committed suicide at her home at Edupugallu in Krishna district on Monday. She used to be a news reader in a local TV channel. She married Pavan Kumar 5 years in the past and went to Dubai. As they belonged to different castes, their parents didn't settle for the marriage. Later, they returned to India after their parents approved their marriage. Reportedly, their marriage used to be going through a coarse patch.
On Sunday, Tejaswini locked herself in her room. As she didn't come out of the room, her partner's mother asked neighbours for help. They broke the door and found her striking to the ceiling. Kankipadu sub-inspector M Shariff retrieved a suicide letter from the house. "Tejaswini and Pavan had disputes from past few months and she suspected Pavan of having extra-marital affairs. She has mentioned the same in the suicide letter and alleged Pavan of subjecting her to mental harassment," Shariff stated. A case has been registered towards Pavan under Section 498 A and 306 of the IPC.
