Fire at plastic bag manufacturing unit

Salem: Fire broke out in a plastic bag manufacturing unit in Salem on Sunday, burning down goods value several lakhs.

Police said the unit, which was once owned through Suresh Kumar of Shevapet, was once functioning at Sivadhapuram house. The unit had hired about eight staff, but it was once locked on Sunday. Around 10.30am, public spotted smoke billowing out from the unit and knowledgeable the hearth and rescue services and products staff. Soon fireplace tenders from Shevapet and Suramangalam had been pressed into provider.


However, the hearth could no longer be put down and shortly unfold to the roof of the unit. Fire razed down plastic raw materials as well as the machineries, police said. Fire provider staff suspect that quick circuit could have brought about the hearth.
