HYDERABAD: A 18-year-old girl jumped to death from a building in Hyderabad on Tuesday allegedly after failing to get a excellent rank in the NEET examination, police said.
The girl, known as Jasleen Kaur, jumped from best of the 10-storey shopping advanced in the busy Abids house in the heart of town.
A police officer said the lady it sounds as if ended her life as she went into despair after no longer getting the expected rank in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance (NEET) examination, the result of which were declared on Monday.
A resident of Kachiguda neighbourhood, Jasleen reached Mayuri Complex in the business hub of Abids round 10.30am. After parking her two-wheeler, she climbed the stairs and reached the highest ground. Some people who noticed her raised an alarm to discourage her but she jumped down.
According to police, the lady sustained head injuries and died on the spot. The frame used to be shifted to government-run Osmania Hospital for autopsy.
Police registered a case. The CCTV pictures confirmed the lady dressed in jeans and T-shirt strolling up the stairs and later leaping to death.
