GURUGRAM: Sameera Sateeja is working arduous towards making her town environment-friendly.
A resident of Sector-14 in Gurugram, Sameera, who is associated with many social groups and is working for the environment purpose, has started a metal 'crockery financial institution' to stay her town clear of the plastic air pollution.
She lends folks metal utensils for "functions where a lot of plastic glasses and plates are being used by people, which in turn leads to pollution".
How did this idea come? In a Chabeel (In summers, groups of folks serve meetha paani to the folk as a part of their non secular ideals), she saw folks serving water in disposable glasses. She thought that persons are doing "good job, but risking the environment by using disposable plastic".
She had a word with the corporate which manufactures disposable glasses and plates. She learnt that to make 3 glasses, one glass water is used that means through the usage of water, plastic is produced after which after serving water in the similar glasses, it's disposed of resulting in air pollution.
This gave her idea of crockery financial institution. She started the financial institution with 100 glasses and 100 plates. Launched a few days again, her financial institution now has greater than 200 glasses and 150 plates. She said that quickly banks shall be opened in all of the sectors.
Sameera has a Facebook page (Crockery for Everyone) too for her mission and "friend Dr Aarushi is helping" her.
For any serve as, Chabeel or Bhandara (group banquet), any person can get the utensils from this crockery financial institution. All one has to do is consult with the Facebook page, share programme date and make contact with number. One gets a call and the needy person will have to give in writing to the RWA functionary or councillor. And put up two ID proofs.
