Coimbatore: A 36-year-old girl labourer at Cinchona Tea Estate in Valparai was attacked via a leopard whilst fetching ingesting water at the employees’ quarters on Thursday night.
Madavi, wife of Balakrishnan, had pop out of the quarters round 7.30pm to fetch water from a tap. A leopard that was hiding within the tea plantation attacked her. The animal fled after her neighbours rushed to her rescue. The girl, who suffered injuries on her head and face, was rushed to the Valparai Government Hospital, from the place she was referred to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital. Ten days in the past, a leopard had attacked a lady employee within the estate.TNN
