GUWAHATI: In a big step forward, police nabbed the principle culprit, four days after he allegedly instigated the lynching of Nilotpal and Abhijit in a far off Assam village in Karbi Anglong district.
After relentless search for the person who despatched out the message that the Guwahati youths are child-lifters, police nabbed him from his hiding in a unique village late Tuesday evening.
Police have recognized him as Alphajoz Timung alias Alpha. "We know he made that phone call to villagers in Panjuri Kacharigaon that led to the unfortunate incident," a police officer stated.
Police have so far arrested 26 others in remaining three days on this connection.
