CHANDIGARH: The Haryana govt, in some other order issued on Tuesday, clarified its stand on athletes eligible to get the cash awards as consistent with the Haryana Sports and Physical Fitness Policy, 2015.
The circular states that it'll give awards to athletes who fall under senior category of any nationwide/global tournament. But, the athletes who've gained medals in corresponding junior, sub-junior and youth categories may not be considered for cash incentives.

However, it has made an exception giving cash rewards to those gamers that includes in the Youth Asian Games, Youth Olympic Games, Youth Commonwealth Games and National School Games.

Ashok Khemka, main secretary in the division of sports activities and youth affairs, stated, “The sports activities coverage of 2009 and 2015 had provision for cash awards at senior-level tournaments which can be identified via global or nationwide sports activities federations (NSFs) affiliated to International Olympic Committee and Indian Olympic Association or organized via the Union or the state govt. Incidentally, junior, youth and sub-junior ranges, instead of the ones mentioned above, were not coated in the sports activities coverage of both 2009 or 2015.”

“The Union ministry of sports activities allows 1/third cash award to junior and 1/sixth to sub-junior categories. The subject of cash awards to junior, youth and sub-junior categories is pending with leader minister Manohar Lal Khattar for attention. Until then, the director has been directed to clear all cash awards as consistent with the sports activities coverage, 2015,” stated Khemka.


The circular additional states that the director sports activities should be sure that pending circumstances of cash awards are put to the government inside of 15 days and a observation of pending circumstances is submitted at the end of each and every month.
