MANGALURU: Academicians, spiritual head and stakeholders hailed the transformational function of K Byrappa, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, at a felicitation programme for him at Mangalagangothri on Saturday. The Prof K Byrappa Felicitation Committee felicitated Byrappa, who is demitting administrative center as VC after his four-year-tenure on Monday, Byrappa used this forum to thank all who cooperated in enforcing his vision for the 38-year-old-university.
N R Shetty, chancellor, Central University of Karnataka, stated it used to be under Byrappa's tenure that the university finally had an anthem of its own, making it one of the crucial few state universities in India to take action.

We will give him a suitable position if he so desires. He is a unique personality who has the ability to guide students in seven different disparate areas and this makes his talent special," stated Sri Nirmalanandanatha swamiji, head of Sri Adhichunchanagiri Math.
